Arquivo X é uma premiada série de televisão norte-americana de ficção científica exibida ao longo dos anos 1990 , criada por Chris Carter. Estreou em setembro de 1993 e terminou em maio de 2002. 

Na série, os agentes do FBI Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) e Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) são investigadores de arquivos-x: casos não solucionados envolvendo fenômenos paranormais. Mulder acredita na existência de extraterrestres e em paranormalidade, enquanto Scully, uma médica cética, é designada para fazer análises científicas das descobertas de Mulder. Ainda no começo da série ambos agentes tornam-se alvo de uma trama conspiratória (denominados "mitologia" pelos produtores), e passam a confiar apenas um no outro. Eles desenvolvem um relacionamento próximo, começando com um sentimento platônico e depois tornando-se um relacionamento romântico no término da série.

A série ganhou popularidade no meio da década de 1990, conduzindo a um filme em 1998, chamado (The X-Files: Fight The Future). Este foi seguido por um filme após o término da série, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, em 2008. Nas duas últimas temporadas, Gillian Anderson tornou-se a protagonista enquanto David Duchovny aparecia intermitentemente, e novos personagens foram introduzidas: os agentes John Doggett (Robert Patrick) e Monica Reyes (Annabeth Gish), enquanto o chefe de Mulder e Scully, o diretor assistente Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi), também tornou-se personagem central. Até o término da série, Arquivo-X era a série com maior tempo de duração na história da televisão americana.
