Em 2003, uma das compilações mais elaboradas e competentes da banda foi produzida. Ultra Rare Trax reúne todas as faixas do álbum de estreia do Evanescence, 'Origin' (2000) – embora 'Eternal' esteja ausente da lista de faixas na contracapa. Origin é o primeiro álbum demo da banda, lançado em 4 de novembro de 2000 pelo selo Bigwig Enterpresis durante um concerto da banda no River Market Pavilion em Little Rock. A primeira prensagem de 1000 cópias dos discos foram manufaturadas pela gravadora em outubro de 2000 na cidade de Nashville, com uma segunda prensagem de mais 1500 cópias em janeiro de 2001, totalizando 2500 cópias oficiais, uma vez que a Bigwig ficou impedida de continuar distribuindo o disco após a aquisição dos direitos da banda recaírem a Wind-Up Records. Origin também apresentou antigas versões das canções "Whisper", "Imaginary" e "My Immortal", que foram incluídas posteriormente no álbum de estreia da banda, Fallen (2003), com uma nova gravação e mixagem. Além disso, a quinta faixa do disco é uma regravação de "Where Will You Go", que já havia sido trabalhada anteriormente no EP Evanescence (1998). Ultra Rare Trax então traz a maior parte dos demos antes da era Fallen e os dois EPs anteriores, "Evanescence" EP e "Sound Asleep" EP em muito boa qualidade, em formato de CD. Evanescence (também conhecido como "Exodus EP") é o primeiro EP lançado pelo Evanescence (Amy Lee e Ben Moody) em 1998, com a Bigwig Enterprises creditada como distribuidora. Foi lançado por Amy e Ben como um CD-R impresso em 29 de dezembro de 1998. Apenas 100 cópias do EP foram produzidas. Esgotaram em 2 de janeiro de 1999 em um show no Vino's, um pub em Little Rock, Arkansas. O EP supostamente seria um álbum demo intitulado Vanish, mas o título foi descartado quando quase metade das faixas foram omitidas. Sound Asleep (também conhecido como Whisper EP) é o segundo EP lançado por Amy Lee e Ben Moody como Evanescence em agosto de 1999, com a Bigwig Enterprises creditada como distribuidora. A Bigwig limitou o lançamento a 50 cópias, sem relançamentos, tornando-o um dos itens mais raros de merchandising do Evanescence.
